Brief Biography Jake P. Gentle Power Systems Research Engineer - Grid Integration Idaho National Laboratory Jake Gentle is a power systems research engineer for the Idaho National Laboratory, and is the INL Laboratory Relationship Manager to the U.S. Department of Energy’s Wind Energy Technologies Office. Jake supports several projects, developing technology and providing technical oversight by coordinating state-of-the-art and innovative solutions with experimental research for the Wind, Marine and Hydrokinetics, and Power Systems Integration programs. Jake holds a Masters degree in Measurement & Controls Engineering and a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from Idaho State University. Over the past eight years, Jake has led multiple power systems and transmission line projects at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Idaho National Laboratory. He currently holds multiple professional society positions as a member of the IEEE Overhead Lines Subcommittee (15.11) and IEEE Task Force on Risk and prediction of Line Ratings, as well as serving on the International Council on Large Electric Systems (CIGRE) U.S. National Committee B2.59 Working Group–Forecasting Dynamic Line Ratings. Jake has also been an Appointed Affiliate Graduate Faculty member at Boise State University and Idaho State University, the Eastern Idaho IEEE Professional Activities and Continuing Education Chair, an active member of his community, and a married father of two energetic and beautiful daughters.
