Akua Anokye
Akua is an associate professor of Africana language, literature, and culture at Arizona State University, where she is also an associate director of the School of Humanities, Arts, and Cultural Studies and the director of New College International Initiatives, office of Interdisciplinary Global Learning and Engagement. She is a past chair of the Conference on College Composition and Communication and the incoming chief reader for the College Board’s Advanced Placement in English Language and Composition. Her research focuses on African diasporic women activists/community mothers and African-American pioneers of Arizona.
