Technology and mobility are changing our expectations of how we design and occupy space, as commercial trends increasingly show a blurring of lines between office, hospitality, marketplace and residential. Gone are the days of 9-to-5 jobs and compartmentalization of work, home and play. Today’s consumers are seeking concierge services, personalization, convenience, and lifestyle that’s easy, fun, and facilitates connection with friends and families. Motivated by different drivers, this phenomenon transcends generations from Boomer to Z. This session will focus on 10 creative ways to adapt residential designs and mix uses to enable more comfortable, flexible and efficient lives. We’ll also discuss ideas to “steal” from other sectors and specialties to create a more holistic experience for users—translating to a competitive edge for your communities.
