Contractors are often called upon to meet or exceed goals that have been established for projects (public and private) for participation by disadvantaged business enterprises, minority-owned business enterprises, and women-owned business enterprises. Diverse teams bring new thinking, better solutions, and greater value. Attendees will leave with concrete ideas on how to achieve participation goals (or counsel clients to achieve them) and thus make their companies more competitive when participation goals have been established.
Upon completion of this session, participants will be able to:
- Understand the use of participation goals and how they may impact contractor selection.
- Understand strategies for maximizing the utilization of M/W/DBEs for execution of construction contracts.
- Understand policies and protocols that can be developed and implemented in furtherance of achieving inclusion objectives.
